Nedra Bickel
Nedra Bickel is a retired educator with 20 years of experience with the Los Angeles School District. The latter half of her career was spent working with 4 and 5 year olds in kindergarten and early kindergarten settings. She chaired the Kindergarten Committee and worked with parents, teachers and administrators to develop and implement best practices.
Prior to her service to children and parents in the East Los Angeles Community, Ms. Bickel worked as a Public Information Officer and an Urban Planner for the County of Los Angeles.
Ms. Bickel served on the Santa Monica Commission on the Status of Women and on the Board of the Santa Monica League of Women Voters.
Ms. Bickel is currently working with the San Diego Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE). She has served as a facilitator for parent workshops and as a liaison between parents and PIQE.
Ms. Bickel’s formal education includes a B.S. in Education from Hofstra University and a Master’s candidacy from the School of Urban Planning/Environmental Design from Cal Poly, Pomona.
Ms. Bickel’s family includes 3 grown children and 6 grand-children.
