Martha Trevisan

Martha Trevisan is a retired registered nurse and lactation consultant with over 25 years experience working with women, infants and children. Prior to retiring, she worked for Palomar Pomerado Health in Pediatrics, the Birth Center and in Home Health providing home visits to new moms and babies. Ms. Trevisan also worked with a breast-feeding support group for Spanish speaking women at the Escondido Community Clinic. In addition to working with new parents and their children, Ms. Trevisan also had an interest in women’s prenatal care. She initially volunteered, and then was employed at the Alternative Pregnancy Clinic in Escondido. In previous years Ms. Trevisan also volunteered with the Flying Samaritans, a group of professionals that travel to Baja California periodically to bring medical services and supplies to the very poor.

Ms. Trevisan is a second generation native of Escondido and has a deep appreciation of what the community has to offer. In addition she has great awareness and understanding of the strengths, assets and needs of families in this community. Her goal in serving on TPAC is to offer insights and knowledge gained from her experience in serving these families and the community.
 
Ms. Trevisan lives in Escondido with her husband of 41 years. They have three grown children and seven grandchildren.
