Thank you for your interest in the First 5 San Diego Emerging Critical Needs fund. The fund was designated to address the most critical gaps in the safety net of services for young children and families arising from state and local economic conditions. Potential applicants interested in this funding opportunity should first read the Emerging Critical Needs policy (Policy F5C – 022) to insure that the applicant organization meets the eligibility criteria and the proposed project meets the funding criteria. More detailed application instructions are currently under development and will be posted on the First 5 San Diego website once they are finalized. In the meantime, if you have a time-sensitive project that meets the policy criteria, you may submit an application in narrative format. Please ensure that the narrative specifically outlines and addresses how the proposal meets each of the project and organizational criteria. To view the Emerging Critical Needs Policy, click here
Please return your application to 1495 Pacific Hwy., Ste 201; San Diego, CA 92101, including a cover letter addressed to Barbara Jiménez, Executive Director that details contact information for your organization.
